One thing I never realized before becoming a parent is that you can be a hero — like a super hero — on a daily basis and you don't even have to wear tights. Let me give you an example.

Today I thrice rescued a horse from a bubbling caldron of water. When I returned the 1 inch plastic horse to its rightful owner I was met with squeals of glee and clapping!

When I fearlessly jumped in frigid temperatures to rescue a tourist who fell off her 4 inch Hobie Cat and into the icy waters of our pool, I was cheered on. When I got out and handed the Little People tourist to her worried owner, I got a hug and was urged to do it " 'gain' "!

Yes, I am an everyday super hero. I am M.O.M. Magnificent Otherworldly Madame d'Annabelle.
