So, I am Canadian, eh?

You may not know this, but on April 17, I woke up Canadian. It’s true. Anyone who reads this blog knows my mom is a Canuck. And I’ve always known that I could apply for citizenship. But now the Canadian government is just declaring all children of Canadians born outside of Canada (before 1977) citizens. Here’s a little summary from The Wall Street Journal.

Thanks to a new law, Canada will bestow citizenship Friday on what its government believes could be hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting foreigners, most of them Americans.

The April 17 amendment to Canada’s Citizenship Act automatically restores Canadian nationality to many people forced to renounce it when they became citizens of another country. It also grants citizenship to their children. (:: read more ::)

In other news …

There is a website called 43things.com. You make a list of 43 things you want to do before you die or turn 40 or whatever goal it is you have for yourself. I hadn’t logged into the site in a long time and just did. Here’s my list (below or click the link; in no particular order).

** Note: The “1 person” or “6 people” (or whatever number of people) after the entries, is the number of people who have the same goal. It’s an interesting site, you should check it out. You can cheer on other people and get cheered. I love seeing what people’s hopes and dreams and goals are. If you make a list of your own, send me the link and I will cheer for you regularly! :-) **

What’s on your list? Leave a comment — I want to know!
