Changes
Article posted on Wednesday, April, 25th, 2007 at 12:47 pmIt has been too long since I have written. I’ve never been good at putting my thoughts and feelings on paper.
I can’t help but be amazed at how much Annabelle has changed in the past week; she is verbalizing more, each day something new and different. It is nice having Mimi here with us. It is allowing us to rest up a bit and allowing Annabelle to bond with her grandmother.
I am also amazed at how much I have changed since one year ago. This weekend is the National Football League’s annual draft. For the past 20 years I have been a hardcore draft junkie. I would purchase 2 or 3 draft preview magazines in March, check the draft websites everyday leading up to the draft, and then, I would spend an entire weekend watching the draft on ESPN. This year, I have not purchased a magazine, only glanced at them in passing at Kroger, and I can count on one hand the number of times I have visited draft websites. Times really have changed, and for the better. It is interesting how priorities in life change when you have a child. I did not even get upset this year when the Atlanta Thrashers were swept out of the NHL playoffs. I was disappointed but not angry. The real test will come this fall when the Cowboys play.
I may have finally grown up.
