Songs That Make You...

Dance and sing in public.

I have a few, but for some reason Carly Simon's "You're So Vain," makes me laugh and giddy and feel like dancing and singing. I did it yesterday when I heard the song in Walgreen's with Annabelle.

How many people in your life could this chorus describe? Ha ha!

You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you
You're so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you
    Don't you? Don't You?

Anyway, I feel the same way about David Lee Roth's "Yankee Rose." It just makes me want to go back to gymnastics or cheer at that pep rally. LOL. Reminds me of good times in my life.

What songs make you want to sing and dance in public? (Whether you actually do it is irrelevant.)

Mama Said There'd Be Days Like These

Classic little clip isn't it? I love it. It's ridiculous and pathetic and hilarious all rolled into one. It's kind of how I feel right now.

Jetlag is almost overcome I think. I lost more than 15 pounds on the Moscow trip. Once I got rehydrated it was about 11. Still damn! Moscow Diet anyone?

They traded Kovalchuk a few days after I got home, adding to an already inexplicably morose household. I am sure jetlag was a major part of it. The worst is that I didn't see this coming. Hossa, I knew would fly, but Ilya. I believed when he said he wanted to stay in Atlanta. Very sad. But there are sadder things in the world, I realize. No really.

It's been a weird transition back. All my dreams are still in Moscow. The weird and wonderful and weirder still place. I hope to return again sooner rather than later. What a trip!

Pictures are in my photo album. Please check them out and, if you feel so inclined, comment. Click for pix.

Thus endeth a very desultory post.

Texans Love Rush

It's a fact. We've lived in other states and nowhere else I've ever been will you hear Rush being played in restaurants, at gas stations, all over the radio, in grocery stores. I love that about my fellow Texans because Rush is a lot like Texas: Bigger than most people realize and constantly bucking trends and telling the rest of the world to deal with it. (As an important aside, I am talking about the band, not the loathesome individual who shames the noble name of "Rush." Please send your hate mail and letters in defense of said person elsewhere.)
